Participate in the very first "C4C Collaborative Peace Project"

Below is a message from Janice Levine and Dr Robert Kalyesubula. These two have undertaken an incredible mission to deliver medical supplies to a clinic in Uganda that so desperately needs them. They are half-way through this mission and they need a little help taking it to the next step.

Dear C4C friends,

Dr. Robert and I want to update you on our progress for sending medical supplies to his clinic in Uganda. As you know, our collaboration was birthed at C4C withthe support of SAWA Global, and has been aided enormously by the Dalai Lama Center and the LinkedIn team since then (read Dr Robert's story). We are nearly ready to send a MEDWISH container filled with hospital beds, exam tables, stretchers, gurneys, dental equipment and many other medical supplies, and want to invite you all to help us with the final leg of raising funds.

Since Vancouver, we have organized a team of students and professionals here in the states called American Friends of ACCESS (African Community Center for Social Sustainability), to help Robert develop and support his ongoing work of providing medical care, education and economic empowerment to the vulnerable people in his community. Our first step is to outfit his clinic with the necessary supplies to build a fully functioning medical center.

With the help of our own Mary Tidlund and her Charitable Foundation, we are on our way to fulfilling that goal. She will be providing the transport with AMJ Campbell International, who will sponsor the delivery of the 40-foot MEDWISH container by land and sea to Kampala, Uganda. This will offset approximately half of the $17,500 required to complete this project.  We now need to raise the remaining $8,000 together.

Let's put our heads and hearts together and try to make this happen as our first C4C collaborative peace project. If you are Canadian, please make a tax-deductible contribution to the "ACCESS Medical Supply Transport - Uganda" at www.tidlundfoundation.com, or if you live in the US, please donate at www.medwish.org, and where it says 'Please indicate what this payment is for' type in "AFO ACCESS, Uganda".  All donations must be received by April 1st.

With appreciation and warm wishes,

Robert Kalyesubula, MD, Exec.  Dir., ACCESS

Janice Levine, PhD, Exec. Dir., AFO ACCESS
