Dalai Lama Center launches new web site

July 3, 2009

VANCOUVER - Those seeking insights towards educating the heart now have a new resource in the form of a web site promoting peace and compassion. The Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education is launching an interactive and informative site as it prepares for the 2009 Vancouver Peace Summit. Located at the current address:  http://dalailamacenter.org, the new site boasts a full spectrum of resources related to the Center, the Summit, and educating the heart.

New look of DLC siteDiscover the Center’s activities and focus since its inception in 2004 via multimedia presentations including video, audio and photos. Learn where the DLC is headed as it looks to the future, including a special section focusing on the Vancouver Peace Summit, from September 26-28.

The Summit, a four-day event taking place in September, will bring together His Holiness The Dalai Lama, five other Nobel Laureates, business and community leaders, scholars, faith leaders, scientists, educators and youth from around the globe to participate in a series of dialogues and events to engage and benefit the local community as well as a global audience.

The new web site’s special Summit section offers an interactive portal through which the dialogues can be experienced live by those around the world and through which the Dalai Lama's thoughts and ideals will have a permanent home online.

The site embraces the world of social media. It is fully integrated with Twitter, Flickr, Facebook, YouTube and many of the other social media sites that are quickly becoming a central element of our everyday communication.

Inspired by the Dalai Lama’s teachings, the site will reach out and be aimed towards all people, regardless of faith, culture or political affiliation. It will work to strengthen the bonds of human connection among all peoples and to share knowledge and explore principles that encourage people to live well together.
