By Douglas Todd

Professor Robert Thurman, father of Uma, has known the Dalai Lama for a long time. He's coming to Vancouver in May to share his wisdom with Victor Chan.

Couldn’t resist mentioning the most famous Thurman, the actress; star of Kill Bill etcetera. But Uma’s dad, Robert Thurman, is no slouch when it comes to fame either. Thurman is in town for two unique events on May 27-28. On Sunday, Thurman will be giving a lecture: "Buddhism and Buddhist Art" at the Frederic Wood Theatre at the University of British Columbia. Tickets available online (www.moa.ubc.ca/eventtickets) or at the door (cash only). Tickets are $16.80; MOA members $5.66 (all ages).

On Monday, May 28, join Thurman and Victor Chan for a one-of-kind conversation as they share stories about the special moments they've spent with the Dalai Lama. They explore the multiple dimensions of the Dalai Lama’s worldview: his core spiritual beliefs and his distinctive take on education and science.
