John McCormick, LLB, BA, is a professional with a successful 20+ year track record in consulting local, regional and national non-governmental organizations, John joined the DLC as Director of Development in August 2011.
He has worked with environmental, literacy and youth programs, national sport organizations, community projects, as well as event-based culture organizations to raise funds, develop programming, and realize their organizational goals. Much of John's work has involved strategic planning and building strategic alliances that lead to enhanced opportunities for funders, private sector partners and community organizations.
In addition to building bridges with corporate, foundation and government funding agencies, he has also participated in federal and provincial commissions, developed national programs and campaigns, and served in national organizational roles.
Most recently, John provided in-house community development support to the Resort Municipality of Whistler and its many community partners and major stakeholders to ramp up their strategic fund development and alliances with private and public sector partners provincially, nationally and internationally.
