Fund Development Consultant
Term Contract - 6 Months, 20 hrs/Week

The Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education seeks an accomplished fundraiser to help us meet our goal of
reaching 3 million children by 2025 in North America and internationally. If you have a proven track record in
securing gifts, identifying new donors, and developing and strengthening relationships with donors, foundations and corporate partners, we would like to work with you.

The Center was co-founded in 2005 with His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama, to further his vision of “Educating the Hearts” of children. As a non-religious and non-political charitable organization, the DLC is a highly trusted source for social and emotional resources and training. Last year we reached more than 700,000 children through the adults in their lives.

Reporting to the DLC Board Chair, you will play a key role in creating and implementing a new strategy to drive DLC towards growth and sustainable funding. This is an ideal position for someone who wants to make a global difference through a values-based Canadian organization.

Key skills, qualifications and assets for this role include:
● Exceptional charitable fundraising and networking skills
● Proven track record securing revenue through donor engagement, grants, and corporate giving
● Strategic growth/planning oriented
● Creative and entrepreneurial
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including written, verbal and public speaking
● Effective donor stewardship knowledge and skills
● Ability to identify grant opportunities from foundations, government, corporations and other sources
● Experience raising funds in BC and/or Canada; CFRE designation (is beneficial)

Job Details
● Contract- 6 month term for 20 Hrs/ Week ( $50-60/hr), potential for extension
● Opportunity to work on site in DLC’s new office in the Coal Harbour area in Vancouver, and/or remotely
within the Lower Mainland
● Start date as soon as possible. Posting will remain open until a suitable candidate is hired.
