"We will be engaged, informed and inspired!"

Those are just a few of the words Maria LeRose uses to describe the "Heart-Mind Conference experience". Our moderator at Heart-Mind 2015 (October 2-3, Vancouver), Maria is looking forward to exploring how adults are able to help children meet the challenge of building and keeping real human connection in our digital world.

"Technology has revolutionized the way we communicate with one another," says Maria. "Facebook, Twitter, texting, Skype all make it possible to connect with others instantaneously.  But as technology continues to advance at warp speed, the scientific research about the impact of these advancements on real human connection can't possibly keep up."

It's this impact that Maria hopes to examine on stage at Heart-Mind 2015 with some of the leading experts in education, child development and technology.

"It's important that we all take time to slow down and reflect on the impact of the digital world on our own lives so we can individually and collectively harness its potential to build strong meaningful lives and relationships," says Maria. "And Heart-Mind 2015 provides that opportunity."

Conference participants will hear about the latest research related to human connection in the digital world, explore challenges and learn about amazing opportunities that digital connections offer. We'll also hear from children who live in this digital world every day.

Take a look at some highlights from Heart-Mind 2013.
