Heart-Mind 2015 In Profile: Peter Senge

On October 2, Dr. Peter Senge will return to Vancouver for a special keynote presentation at Heart-Mind 2015: Human Connection in a Digital World. Peter is a long-time friend of the Dalai Lama Center as one of the Center's first Heart-Mind Speakers Series guests.

An unassuming and inspiring presence, Peter describes himself as an 'idealistic pragmatist'. He explores abstract ideas of systems theory while advocating that human values be brought to schools, the workplace and many other diverse forms of organization. He has lectured extensively throughout the world, translating the abstract ideas of systems theory into practical tools for better understanding of economic and organizational change.

At Heart-Mind 2015, Peter will use his unique lens to explore Systems Thinking in a Digital World. Peter believes that through collaboration and nurturing supportive environments we can create great change. He says that this change is most evident in children.

"I don't think there's a more powerful, emotonally evocative way to feel (change) than to feel it in children," Peter told the Dalai Lama at the Heart-Mind Summit in 2014. "Children are what connect us to the future...In a conversation with a child, the future is real."
