Connecting for Change: Delivering Medical Supplies to Uganda

Sunday, December 6, 2009 - Sunday, December 20, 2009

On December 6, 2009, The Dalai Lama Center for Peace & Education, a not-for-profit, non-religious foundation co-founded by the Dalai Lama, launched a special project to help thousands of people in Uganda receive necessary medical equipment.

This project, coordinated by the Center's Connecting for Change program, a program that facilitates meaningful conversations and provides tools to inspire personal reflection, transformation and connection with others across sectors and professions, is using the connective power of LinkedIn to help overcome the prohibitive shipping costs of bringing medical equipment to the East African country:

Dr Robert Kalyesubula, who attended the Connecting for Change dialogue in September and founded the hospital in Uganda that needs this equipment, is asking the 53 million strong LinkedIn audience these three questions:

1. Do you know of a shipping company that can help transport a cargo container of Humanitarian Aid Medical Supplies to Uganda?

2. Can you connect us with a Humanitarian Aid Organization that can sponsor our clinic and expedite the transport of supplies?

3. Do you have any advice for dealing with Customs and other red tape in Uganda?

The Event: Special Project: Delivering Medical Supplies to Uganda
