Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education: CEO Job Posting

The Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education is looking for a visionary and inspiring CEO to grow the organization’s impact on children’s social and emotional well-being.

The Center was co-founded in 2005 with His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama, to further his vision of “Educating the Hearts” of children. As a non-religious and non-political charitable organization, the DLC is a highly trusted source for social and emotional resources and training. Last year we reached more than 700,000 children through the adults in their lives. The new CEO will need a growth mindset to meet our goal of reaching 3 million children by 2025 in North America and internationally.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising and donor relations, as well as the capacity to meet annual fundraising targets. Experience working in or with non-profits is required, while familiarity of the field of social and emotional learning is a strong asset.

This is an ideal position for someone who wants to make a global difference through a values-based Canadian organization.

Skills needed:

  • Fundraising through individual donors and grant applications
  • Program and financial management
  • Human resources management of a small team
  • Excellent social and emotional skills and an understanding of social issues affecting children and families
  • Track record of planning and leading growth of an organization
  • Excellent public speaking, presentation and communication skills
  • Strong digital skills and an understanding of online education and social media

The CEO will report to the DLC Board of Trustees and work closely with its Chair. We offer a competitive salary in the $110-130k range, and are committed to work-life balance for our employees. The CEO will be based in the Coal Harbour area of downtown Vancouver.

Please send a cover letter and CV to the DLC Chair by May 16, 2022.
