Last month, the Dalai Lama Center invited Dr Jack Miller to Vancouver for "Educating for Wisdom and Compassion". In this talk, Dr Miller spoke of Bhutan, a small country in South Asia, that has been measuring its success not by its GDP, but its GNH, or Gross National Happiness.
In Seattle, there's a group looking to do the same. The Seattle Area Happiness Initiative is collecting information through a survey to find out just how happy we are. Below is a video from King 5 that describes the initiative. You can take the survey here.
