An eloquent speaker, knowledgeable in the rich interplay between kindness and reconciliation, Chief Dr. Robert Joseph will provide an emotional anchor to the conference. Kindness is deeply embedded in his culture. Kindness is evident in rites of passage and the themes of everyday lives. Chief Joseph believes that no society is more focused on childhood than First Nations. To his people, all children are the universe, the “now.”
Chief Dr. Robert Joseph is a Hereditary Chief of the Gwawaenuk First Nation. His life has been dedicated to bridging the differences brought about by intolerance, lack of understanding and racism - at home and abroad. Chief Joseph is currently the Ambassador for Reconciliation Canada.
He is leading an historic effort to deepen the dialogue and create the shared understandings that are foundational to finding a new, kinder way to live in this time and place together. “There must be a persistent, consistent determination to see a new Canada where all people are respected and included in the culture, the economic climate, in the forward moving process.”
