Geoff Plant Joins DLC Board of Trustees
The Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education is pleased to announce Geoff Plant as the newest member of its Board of Trustees. Plant is a partner in the Vancouver office of the national law firm Heenan Blaikie LLP, where his practice focuses on public law and policy.
During his nine years as a member of the BC Legislative Assembly, he served as Attorney General of British Columbia and Minister responsible for Treaty Negotiations from 2001 to 2005. Since leaving politics Mr. Plant has undertaken a number of public policy projects. In 2007 he produced a report for the provincial government entitled Access and Excellence: The Campus 2020 Plan for British Columbia's Post-Secondary Education System.
The DLC was created in 2005 to promote the secular values of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and to translate his vision of kindness, compassion and interconnectedness into initiatives and programs that can make a difference in people's lives, their neighbourhoods, and help them engender positive change in our world. Its programs include the Center for the Advancement of Heart-Mind Education (CAHME), Community Engagement and a Speakers Series, which brings international experts on heart-mind research and effective practice to Vancouver.
