What is Social and Emotional Fitness?
Learn more: September 27
There is a growing body of scientific research across multiple disciplines - education, psychology, health and neuroscience - that reveals important information about the social and emotional development in children.
Children who have empathy, solve problems peacefully, get along with others, manage strong emotions and deal with stress - they do better in school, family, and community. They have less aggression, fewer behaviour problems, and less emotional distress. In short, they thrive.
And we now know how we can cultivate these positive human qualities in our children - by providing caring environments, developing nurturing relationships and being deliberate in teaching children the skills they need to be healthy and happy.
Join us for Social and Emotional Fitness for Children and Youth as Dr. Kimberly Schonert-Reichl, who has shared research with the Dalai Lama (see bleow), presents innovative strategies that can be used by parents, educators and anyone who cares for and about children.
